Short TE Volumetric Spiral 1H MR Spectroscopic Imaging of the Human Brain at 3T using semi-LASER

چکیده
Introduction Proton MR chemical shift imaging (CSI) of brain metabolites can identify biomarkers relevant to healthy or metabolic cerebral metabolism. At short TE, strongly J-coupled and short T2 metabolites can be detected. High field offers higher SNR and improved spectral resolution with the disadvantage of increased B1 and B0 heterogeneities as well as chemical shift displacement error (CSDE). The semi-LASER (Localisation with Adiabatic SElective Refocusing) sequence reduces CSDE and B1 heterogeneity effects with improved slice selection profiles [1]. Phase encoding CSI [2] has long acquisition time which depends on spatial resolution. Spiral Spectroscopic Imaging (SSI) by simultaneous spatial and spectral encodings reduces minimum acquisition time [3]. It thus becomes possible to acquire additional data such as a spatial dimension and/or a second spectral dimension. We present here volumetric SSI of the human brain with a 32 ms TE using slice selective adiabatic refocusing pulses.

Comparison of 1.5T and 3T 1H MR Spectroscopy for Human Brain Tumors
OBJECTIVE We wanted to estimate the practical improvements of 3T proton MR spectroscopy ((1)H MRS) as compared with 1.5T (1)H MRS for the evaluation of human brain tumors. MATERIALS AND METHODS Single voxel (1)H MRS was performed at both 1.5T and 3T in 13 patients suffering with brain tumors. Using the same data acquisition parameters at both field strengths, the (1)H MRS spectra were obtaine...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Echo time (TE) can have a large influence on the spectra in proton MR spectroscopy ((1)H-MR spectroscopy). The purpose of this study was to comparatively assess the diagnostic value of 3T single-voxel (1)H-MR spectroscopy with short or intermediate TEs in grading cerebral gliomas. METHODS Single voxel (1)H-MR spectroscopy was performed at 3T in 35 patients with cerebral...
متن کاملOptimal timing for in vivo 1H-MR spectroscopic imaging of the human prostate at 3T.
Proton MR spectroscopic imaging ((1)H-MRSI) of the human prostate, which has an interesting clinical potential, may be improved by increasing the magnetic field strength from 1.5T to 3T. Both theoretical and practical considerations are necessary to optimize the pulse timing for spectroscopic imaging of the human prostate at 3T. For in vivo detection of the strongly coupled spin system of citra...

Susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) has continued to develop into a powerful clinical tool to visualize venous structures and iron in the brain and to study diverse pathologic conditions. It is a new art which evaluates and exploits the properties of blood, iron and other tissues. It is a magnitude or filtered phase images or combination of both, obtained with high-resolution 3D fully velocit...
